A review has been launched into maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust which will be led by Donna Ockenden, who investigated the Telford and Shrewsbury maternity scandal.

Nearly 600 people have come forward with concerns about the care that they or their loved one received at the Trust. Concerns have been raised about:

Maternity services at the Trust have been rated as inadequate by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) since 2020. The CQC identified incidents where staff failed to monitor babies’ heart rates or had misinterpreted the readings. The CQC found that some babies had suffered harm or death as a direct result of these failings. In the CQC’s latest inspection, published in May 2021, the Trust’s services continue to be rated as inadequate.

If you are one of these families or you have received poor care from Nottingham University Hospitals Trust, we are here to help. We can offer free specialist advice and no win no fee claims. We will look at your case, even if it has been turned down by other solicitors, and provide you with a second opinion.

Why bring a claim?

We want to help you and your family get the answers that you need to understand what went wrong with yours or your baby’s medical treatment.

If your child has suffered a birth injury, we know from our years of experience how life changing it can be to have the right compensation to provide for your child’s needs now and in the future; whether it is therapy, education, equipment, care, suitable accommodation, financial management, or all of those things and more. We will ensure that we help you obtain everything needed to give you peace of mind, and your child financial security for the future.

If a loved one has died, no amount of money is ever going to bring them back. But we can help ease some of the financial burdens by obtaining compensation; investigate the claim to help you understand what happened; hold individual professionals to account; and raise standards so that no one else has to go through what has happened to you.

Why choose us?

We are specialists in obstetric claims including birth injury, Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE) claims, neonatal deaths, stillbirth and maternal deaths. We push boundaries to ensure that all avenues are explored, and that even the most difficult of claims have the best chance of succeeding. And, at all times, we put our clients first, asking the questions they want answered and ensuring they obtain the compensation they need to make life better.

No win no fee claims

We know that bringing a claim against the NHS seems daunting. But we offer no win no fee claims and will provide you with all of the help and support that you need throughout the claims process.
