A Mile a Day in May and more for Silverlining

Our team has enjoyed the sunshine this month while supporting the brain injury charity and valued friend of ours, Silverlining in their Mile a day in May challenge.

It was fantastic to see our team members coming together for such a meaningful cause. The team walked, jogged, swam, or ran their miles each day, knowing that their efforts were not only benefiting their own health but also contributing to the well-being of others and raising awareness for individuals with brain injuries.

The campaign focuses on raising funds for the personal development and growth of individuals with brain injuries and encourages everyone to get involved regardless of ability.

Rebuilding lives after brain injury

Silverlining was established in 2006 by Dr Sherrie Baehr, consisting at first of a small group of brain injury survivors and their families.

Since then, the organisation has expanded significantly, assisting more than 6,000 participants through their frequent gatherings, functions and fundraising efforts nationwide in the UK.

The charity aids brain injury survivors in discovering meaning in their lives by offering social engagements, internal roles within the organisation, fundraisers, activity clubs and a variety of other opportunities that can be accessed online or in person.

Our team members Kim, Lisa, and Charlene successfully met their one-mile-a-day goal, squeezing in their miles at work, in the evenings or simply enjoying the sunny countryside with a furry companion.

This annual campaign is eagerly anticipated and we are thrilled to show our support each year.

Incredibly, in 2022 Kim Chamberlain went above and beyond by running 10 miles daily, raising £1,000 and covering an impressive 310.7 miles.

“This month I chose to take part in The Sliverlining Charity mile a day challenge, it has been a good opportunity to build my fitness up after having surgery and to support an amazing charity at the same time. My dog Alfie has also been enjoying the extra walks!”

And that’s not all! Earlier this month, Ashley and India from our Wilmslow office attended the launch of the brand-new Manchester branch of Silverlining, joining several other professionals, healthcare workers and Silverliners, to celebrate the new expansion of this fantastic charity

India and I were lucky enough to attend the Silverlining Manchester launch event at Lane 7. It was great to meet the people Silverlining help and to see the amazing work they do. We had a great time and found out about the upcoming events the charity will be holding which we’re really looking forward to attending.
