For over 30 years, CL Medilaw has been helping people who have been injured by a medical mistake or a serious accident. Many of those had loved ones who were facing a future they hadn’t planned for. They come to us at one of the most difficult points in their lives, needing advice they can trust and somebody prepared to help them fight for answers.
In 2019, we became CL Medilaw, which started a new chapter of real growth. More families found us, from different parts of the country, and the team grew in kind to support them. Today we work from 14 offices across England and Wales, with a specialism in helping families in birth injury and maternity claims, and for people living with brain injuries, amputations, spinal, and other serious injuries.
Growth matters in our field because of what it lets us do. A claim can bring answers to a family who were left wondering whether they would ever get them. It can pay for the kind of care, therapies, and equipment that make a genuine and lasting difference. We understand that behind every case, is a person, often a whole family, whose future might depend on us getting it right.
That is also why our support goes beyond providing legal advice. We work alongside valuable charities and support groups, including Bliss, the Child Brain Injury Trust, the Peeps HIE Legal Panel, and the Major Trauma Signposting Partnership. Through our grant fund, we help families with therapy, equipment, and community support during a child’s early years, whether or not they have a claim.
Our firm has changed a great deal since 2019, and even more since we first opened our doors, so we’re excited about refreshing our brand to match. As part of this, we’ve launched a new website, which is built for the people who come to us at these difficult moments. It explains things in plain language and provides access to the right support — wherever they are and whatever they choose to do next.
While we might look different, our purpose hasn’t changed: to be the best possible place for families to go when times are tough. Every single day, our team works together to change lives for the better. That has always been our cause, and it always will be.
If you or someone close to you needs advice, our team is here to listen
