Meningitis Now is the UK’s largest meningitis charity offering support, funding research and raising awareness of this deadly disease.
This is a charity very close to my heart as they provided much needed support to my best friend’s parents when she contracted the disease at university. I am also trained business mentor for the Meningitis Now Believe & Achieve Campaign which aims to provide help and support to 14 – 25 years old who have been directly or indirectly affected by this condition.
On 27 May 2019, I participated in the London Vitality 10k in support of Meningitis Now. It was a sunny day and Mo Farah had already won the race before I had even crossed the start line. I completed the course in 1 hour 19 minutes, not too far behind the winning time of 28 minutes! The atmosphere was amazing and Team Tangerine had 25 runners who all kept each other going when we wanted to stop. In total over £8,000 has been raised by the runners, a fantastic achievement.
