On Friday 14 July, five of the CL Medilaw team attended the fabulous annual CBIT Games at the Tally Ho Conference Centre in Birmingham.
CBIT are the Child Brain Injury Trust, who help and support children who have acquired brain injuries, as well as their families. They do work in hospitals, schools and in the community to maximise their outreach.
The games were attended by 32 teams, made up of a mixture of law firms, medical expert agencies and expert financial advisors. The games consisted of 5 events, including the egg and spoon race and tug of war.
The team were in fine form despite the rainy Birmingham weather. That was especially the case when our very own Lucy Metters convincingly won her space hopper race. Shortly after, a strong display from our team allowed them to cruise past their opponents in the tug of war. There was also a selection of indoor carnival games with the chance to win a drone. The day was brought to a close with a rather wet walking relay and a delicious BBQ.
Our team consisted of Ebony Elliott, Ashley Landes, Kishma Bolaji, Henry Dippnall and Lucy Metters. When asked about the event, Ashley had this to say:
“It was amazing to attend this event for the first time. It was a pleasure to help raise money for such an incredible charity. The team had a great time together and we can’t wait to attend next year.”
