In this edition of Changing Lives, we focus on how a claim for compensation can help fund accessible holidays abroad and recreational activities, allowing families to spend quality time together in a supported, stress-free environment.
CL Medilaw Teams up With Cerebra to Discuss Accessible Holidays Abroad
Amy Milner, Senior Associate at CL Medilaw, teamed up with Cerebra to talk about the unique challenges faced by our brain injury community when planning a family holiday. Their discussion highlighted the organisations that specialise in arranging memorable, accessible holidays abroad for children with complex needs. Amy also set out how a compensation claim can help ensure your child has access to tailored holidays and recreational activities that remove the usual barriers families face when travelling overseas.

How Our Families Have Used Their Compensation
We spoke to DL and his family about their recent holidays to Disneyland Florida and with the Calvert Trust at Kielder. These examples show how compensation can open the door to accessible holidays abroad, giving families the chance to travel without limits.
DL said: “Both holidays were awesome as I could participate the same as others. My disability wasn’t an obstacle and I felt free!”

Sponsoring Equipment for The Rainbow Centre in Their 35th Anniversary Year
We are excited to announce our sponsorship and funding of a new wooden climbing frame and sensory light-up toys for The Rainbow Centre in Farnham.
When we asked the centre about our support, they said: “The climbing frame is very popular with the children already, and the lights will really help support our children with visual impairments. As you can see from the photographs, this new equipment has been a real hit! We cannot thank CL Medilaw enough for their support.”

Attending the House of Commons with Harry’s Hat
In January, Kay Taylor was invited by Harry’s Hat to attend an event in the State Rooms within the House of Commons hosted by Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP. The purpose of the event was to highlight and launch the next phase of their ‘Get-A-Head’ campaign, calling for a clearer pathway for referral for children showing signs of hydrocephalus.
You can learn more about their campaign here.
We also supported the publication of “Hydrocephalus: Starting School” for Harry’s Hat aimed to support children starting education with hydrocephalus as well as inform teachers and other pupils about the condition.
